I just found out our furlough days have been reduced from 11 to 6, so my full pay starts back again soon. Why should you care? I will soon have more money to fund the crazy (read: amazing) ideas that you guys come up with!

Sorry to hear that you got caught up in the furlough mess. I just told a friend of mine that is getting out of the military to look for an excepted service GS position like mine, as we weren't affected by the furloughs. We also aren't DOD, so...

This job wasn't supposed to be forever anyway, so it definitely encouraged me to start applying for things again. Still holding out hope that Porsche accepts my application for Test Driver. I told them I'd be willing to test the ability of a skinny, tall white kid to fit into their "trunks" if it meant I could drive one occasionally.
